Legendary: Willie Ninja
What can I say about him? Besides legendary & fierce... Throughout my time growing up in New York I had the chance to see him many times. Whether working the door at the infamous Sound Factory Bar with Little Louie Vega or performing at Brian "Footwork" Green's House Dance Conference. What an amazing dancer, performer, and person.
& to celebrate his life here is Malcolm McLaren's "Deep In Vogue"
Willie was in the video & the record. The 12inch came with an incredible poster with Willie on it.

David Bowie "Fame 90"
I was digging through my record collection when I came across this record by David Bowie. I remember getting it from Vinylmania for five bucks too! Released in 1990 this single included 5 mixes with an appearence from Queen Latifah, and remix work from the one and only Arthur Baker. Anyways I thought I'd post the last mix which is my favorite. It's a 14 minute mix that would make Larry Levan, and Tom Moulton proud.
I could only find a picture of the cd single off discogs.com

Beanfield "Tides" Msg Re-work
There were so many great mixes of this song when if first dropped. People like Carl Craig to the recently released Ripperton mix. Well I did my own re-work enjoy.

Put Your Drink Down (Msg party dub)
A classic deep house party joint produced by Mr. V. I did an edit taking out all the shout outs in the beginning of the song. I then added a dub to the second part of the track.

Vinylmania R.I.P.
I posted this a while back but deleted it by accident. Vinylmania was only a couple blocks away from my crib. & it was like a knife to my heart when I found out Charlie would be closing. This was the mother of house records stores in New York City. The spot to go to when the Paradise Garage was still open, need I say more?
It's an end to an era. I'm hating my labtop & serato right about now.
Bombing APT
I'm not sure when this was but this picture is simply amazing. My good friend & artist Charles Cohen
& I were installing some artwork that he did in Apt. for a special party. We got the go ahead to spray paint one of Charles pieces on the the back brick wall outside in the smokers area. When we finally finished painting it, the manager of Apt. came up to us and asked if that would come off? We both looked at each other and said um... no? I think it cost them $1000 bucks or something to powerwash that off... lol, classic Apt. Sundays, I miss djing there.

Club Love
Club Love
The secret is out of the bag, but I just wanted to say how dope this club is! With the dj booth from heaven to the Gary Stewart Audio system. What more can you ask for? The last party I went to was the Mark Ronson & Aaron Lacrate bday bash. With special guest Busy P. the man behind Ed Banger records, Daft Punk, & Justice!!! He killed it and opened with Biggie's 10 Crack Commandments.
Heavy hitters in the house that night were, Dj AM, Eli Escobar, Stretch Armstrong, & Dj A-trak, to name a few.
Denim Contest
Ok so I'm a total geek when it comes to denim. On November 1, 2006 I started this contest along with 27 other denim heads. Here's the scoop:
The Denim Contest was an idea that originally strayed from a Japanese denim company, The Flat Head, where three employees including the company’s president participated in a no-holds-barred competition to see who could get the sweetest natural fading out of a pair of dungarees within three years.
A discussion about it on superfuture’s supertalk forum created a demand among the users to participate in a similar contest. Samurai Jeans was chosen as the manufacturer and the S0500XX model was chosen to be worn by all participants. Samurai offered to make a special run of these jeans with identification brandings solely for the contest.
On November 1, 2006, twenty-seven denim enthusiasts from around the world starting wearing their Samurai jeans for the competition that would last one year. The following year pictures would be taken and the masses would vote on the best looking jeans. The winner will receive any pair of Samurai jeans of their choosing directly from Samurai.

Maxwell Re-edit
It seems like it was ages ago when I was working over at The Shelter. I put this re-edit out by Maxwell called "No One" & added some more verses to it. (I was know as Kid Asia back then) Anyways, I gave it to Timmy Regisford and when he returned from Japan he said he played it out and it was a hit. Needless to say it got pressed out on Fall Out Records and from what I heard was sold out in 2days over at Dancetracks. (limited run of 500 copies, I only got 2 copies and had to buy more!) On the b-side was a bonus dub I did of "Is It Love" by Machine.

Lura Starr Fashion Show
It's Fashion week here in New York City. When I was out in Las Vegas djing for Project/Magic, I was lucky enough to meet Niki a talented designer for her line Lura Starr. I mixed and did the sound design for her show. Here are some shots from my crappy camera, enjoy...
